Bio
Blaine Carter started programming in 1995 and for most of his career, he used Oracle tools to build applications. Beginning with Oracle Forms and Reports, he helped write and maintain an HTML framework in PL/SQL similar to APEX. Blaine has done a little Java both inside and outside the database, and of course a whole bunch of SQL and PL/SQL. A few years ago, Blaine started getting interested in other technologies. Now Blaine is a member of the Oracle Developer Advocates team, with a mission to promote Oracle Database as a powerful foundation for application development. His focus is on languages commonly used in open-source projects, including Ruby, Python, Perl, JavaScript, and others. He intends to serve as a bridge between open-source developers and Oracle, making it easier for them to build applications on Oracle Database.
